History

In 1984, after working thirteen years in public accounting, Bill Steele recognized that a vital and growing segment of businesses and high net worth individuals were paying premium rates for their tax and accounting services but receiving second tier service from the national and international accounting firms. Understanding that he could offer a better alternative, Bill left Deloitte, Haskins & Sells to start his own firm.

During the last twenty-eight years William Steele & Associates has become one of New England’s most respected resources for companies, their owners and high net worth individuals that seek knowledgeable, experienced and cost-effective guidance in complex areas of federal, state and international tax planning and compliance.

While our education and experience is concentrated on tax related matters, our services include a wide range of accounting services including the preparation of reviewed and compiled financial statements. The partners at William Steele & Associates average thirty years of public accounting experience. We currently employ thirteen CPAs, four CPA candidates and four administrative support staff. Eleven members of our professional staff have earned a Masters in Taxation, a Masters in Business Administration or are currently enrolled in a Masters in Taxation program.
